Aarhus - the European Capital of Culture 2017
A visit to my hometown during Aarhus Festuge (Aarhus Festival Week), an annual celebration of art and much else, bigger and better this year because of the city's status as a European Capital of Culture.

Small memorial in the park next to City Hall, commemorating the soldiers who fell in the wars against the rebels in Slesvig-Holstein, supported by Prussia. The last of those wars, in 1864, was a disaster for Denmark, resulting in significant loss of territory (some of which was recovered after World War I).
