Wrocław, changing

A stroll through the city where I was born, Wrocław in south-western Poland, with a multicultural history dating back to the Middle Ages and a modern renaissance that has seen it grow and prosper since 1990.

Grunwaldzki Bridge, opened in 1910 in what was then the German city of Breslau; it was originally called Kaiserbrücke (Imperial Bridge) and was opened by Kaiser Wilhelm II. The current name refers to the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, when a Polish-Lithuanian army defeated the Teutonic Knights in northern Poland. In the background is Sky Tower, Poland's tallest building at 212 meters.
