Wrocław, changing

A stroll through the city where I was born, Wrocław in south-western Poland, with a multicultural history dating back to the Middle Ages and a modern renaissance that has seen it grow and prosper since 1990.

Statue of Alexander Fredro in front of City Hall, Rynek. Fredro was a 19th century playwright in Lwow, today's Lviv in Ukraine. His statue was moved to Wrocław following the realingment of Poland after the Second World War, and placed here as a replacement for an earlier statue of Kaiser Wilhelm, no longer welcome here after 1945.
