A stroll through Warsaw

A record of my visit to Poland's capital in June 2018, focusing on the historical aspects of the city, often painful to contemplate. But today's Warsaw is also a reborn, modern, European city.

Modern history: an anti-Semitic speech by Communist Party General Secretary Władysław Gomułka in 1968. It was a starting point of a campaign to "cleanse" Polish institutions of Jews with their presumed dual loyalty to Israel. This campaign prompted thousands of Polish Jews, including my family, to emigrate during the subsequent years.
