A stroll through Warsaw

A record of my visit to Poland's capital in June 2018, focusing on the historical aspects of the city, often painful to contemplate. But today's Warsaw is also a reborn, modern, European city.

The memorial to the Smolensk victims in front of the presidential palace. After the crash, nationalists erected a large wooden cross on this site. It was removed after heated controversy, but the small "freelance" crosses remain, imploring people to "defend the cross."
