A visit to Warsaw

A few days spent in Poland's capital, completely destroyed during World War II, drab and grey during the following decades of Communist rule, now a vibrant European city of 1.7 million people.

Gate to Wilanów Palace, just outside Warsaw, built by king Jan III Sobieski in 1677 as his country estate. One of the very few buildings of this kind in Warsaw that was NOT destroyed during WWII.
