A few days spent in Poland's capital, completely destroyed during World War II, drab and grey during the following decades of Communist rule, now a vibrant European city of 1.7 million people.
The two women on the right were carrying messages to the resistance in 1944 when they were attacked by a German sniper. Zenia (19) was killed, Zofia (23) was seriously wounded.
