My first-ever visit to the part of Poland bordering Slovakia to the south and Ukraine to the east, with Rzeszów as the main base but also with visits to other towns in the region, including Sanok, Lesko, Tarnów and Łańcut.
During the post-war years, more than 140,000 ethnic Ukrainians were forcibly resettled from the Sanok area to western Poland to populate the territories annexed from Germany. In 2007, some of them came back to Sanok to re-found their congregation.
