Aarhus - the European Capital of Culture 2017

A visit to my hometown during Aarhus Festuge (Aarhus Festival Week), an annual celebration of art and much else, bigger and better this year because of the city's status as a European Capital of Culture.

The sad remains of Chas E, a wine and gourmet food store on Ryesgade. As a schoolboy, I would look at the all the exotic (and expensive!) foods on display. The shop was at this location from 1921 until it closed in 2016.
