Aarhus - the European Capital of Culture 2017

A visit to my hometown during Aarhus Festuge (Aarhus Festival Week), an annual celebration of art and much else, bigger and better this year because of the city's status as a European Capital of Culture.

A recreation of a 1945 living room with a period radio playing the message from the BBC broadcast on 4 May 1945, informing the people of Denmark that the German forces in NW Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark have surrendered and five years of occupation have ended.
